The art teaching major aims to: train future educators using cutting-edge approaches that connect art theory, creative practice, and teaching methods, develop thoughtful art instructors who appreciate cultural diversity, community engagement, and arts' significance in schools and neighborhoods, qualify students for Utah state teaching certification, provide a comprehensive grasp of arts' educational and societal importance, and enhance students' skills in art creation, aesthetic appreciation, art analysis, and historical context.

Qualification Requirements

A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university. The Office of Admissions will determine if an applicant's degree meets the Graduate School's requirement of a recognized Bachelor's degree.
A 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA in the undergraduate career or demonstrable academic readiness for graduate-level studies.
Meet the academic department's admission standards and receive a recommendation for admission to their program.
We do not require a GRE score to apply
Transcripts from each college or university attended. They can be unofficial for now, but if you are offered a position in our program, the admissions office requires official transcripts.
