The MFA Program in Studio Art seeks candidates who demonstrate exceptional creative achievement. Applicants should possess a BFA in Art or a related field like architecture or design, along with a dedicated readiness for the rigors of graduate-level study. Our program offers concentrations in Community-Based Art Education, Ceramics, Graphic Design, Illustration, Painting and Drawing, Photography and Digital Imaging, Printmaking, and Sculpture Intermedia.
This intensive two-year residential MFA is designed for artists who show unwavering dedication to their practice through exceptional creativity, discipline, and initiative. Candidates must exhibit thoughtful conceptual development in their work and familiarity with diverse contemporary art approaches. Through the program, you'll gain mastery of the technical skills and tools essential for professional artistic practice.

A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university. The Office of Admissions will determine if an applicant's degree meets the Graduate School's requirement of a recognized Bachelor's degree.
A 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA in the undergraduate career or demonstrable academic readiness for graduate-level studies.
