The MEAE program follows a cohort structure, keeping students together for the full two-year duration (excluding summer terms). Applicants select from four specialized tracks: Game Arts, Game Engineering, Game Production, or Technical Art. Each track offers dedicated coursework in its discipline while also requiring collaborative classes with other tracks, covering game design, rapid prototyping, pre-production, and capstone projects. Students can further customize their education through track-specific electives. The Game Engineering track emphasizes technical game development components such as engine architecture, graphics programming, AI systems, and innovative control interfaces. Ideal candidates typically hold a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field with some game development experience.
The Master of Entertainment Arts and Engineering program maintains a cohort-based approach, with all four tracks progressing through the two-year curriculum (fall and spring semesters) together. While students complete specialized courses in their chosen track, they also participate in interdisciplinary classes that include game design fundamentals, prototyping workshops, pre-production planning, and final project development. Each specialization offers a curated selection of elective courses to complement the core curriculum.
