This specialized program equips future educators to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Participants can select between two pathways. Pathway 1: Focuses on serving children from infancy to age five in home environments and preschool programs. Pathway 2: Prepares educators for specialized classrooms or inclusive/itinerant placements serving K-12 students. The Deaf and Hard of Hearing curriculum offers extensive training covering auditory-verbal approaches, visual communication methods including American Sign Language, and strategies for fostering language acquisition, literacy skills, cognitive growth, social development, and academic achievement across all grade levels.

Qualification Requirements
A bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited U.S. college or university or from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education in their home country. The Office of International Admissions will determine if applicants with international degrees meet the Graduate School's requirement of a recognized Bachelor's degree.
Submit Official Transcripts directly to the University Graduate School Admissions for ALL colleges/universities you have attended.
Three Letters of Recommendation
At least a 3.0 or higher undergraduate weighted mean GPA on a 4.0 scale. If the undergraduate GPA is below 3.0, a GPA will be calculated for the last two years attended if schooling was done at a foreign institution, and based upon the last 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) if the student attended a U.S. institution.
Transcripts (mark sheets, school records, grades) for all post-secondary schools attended. Official English translations must be provided if the transcripts are only in the native language.
