The Master of Education (M.Ed.) is a professional graduate degree granted to students who complete coursework in key areas: Graduate core curriculum, Teacher certification requirements or M.Ed. specialized courses, and Advanced graduate-level studies. Candidates can pursue the M.Ed. with or without obtaining teaching credentials. This degree emphasizes professional growth and expertise that significantly surpasses undergraduate education and basic teacher training. Each student's program must be approved by their advisory committee and should form a structured educational pathway with practical experiences, rather than simply accumulating credit hours. Qualification Requirements
A bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited U.S. college or university or from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education in their home country. The Office of International Admissions will determine if applicants with international degrees meet the Graduate School's requirement of a recognized Bachelor's degree.
Submit Official Transcripts directly to the University Graduate School Admissions for ALL colleges/universities you have attended.
Three Letters of Recommendation
At least a 3.0 or higher undergraduate weighted mean GPA on a 4.0 scale. If the undergraduate GPA is below 3.0, a GPA will be calculated for the last two years attended if schooling was done at a foreign institution, and based upon the last 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) if the student attended a U.S. institution.
Transcripts (mark sheets, school records, grades) for all post-secondary schools attended. Official English translations must be provided if the transcripts are only in the native language.
