Rhetoric examines both verbal and nonverbal methods of symbolic persuasion. Our collective focus lies in exploring how communication theories and practices contribute to resolving challenges. As a group, we value social equity, ecological sustainability, active academic involvement, and practical interventions, considering rhetoric to extend beyond mere analysis of eloquent speeches or isolated texts. We perceive rhetoric as an evolving mechanism driving societal transformation or opposition, where tangible circumstances and power dynamics shape our understanding of communication's role in addressing issues of socioeconomic status, gender, and cultural identity during times of instability.
