Earning a PhD in public health empowers practitioners to lead population-based research as primary investigators, qualifying them to apply for NIH-funded and other competitive studies. This advanced degree also prepares graduates for faculty positions where they can teach and conduct research at medical schools, public health institutions, and various academic environments, including cancer centers, HMOs, and healthcare organizations.
The inaugural PhD in Public Health cohort commenced in fall 2004, and the program has maintained uninterrupted accreditation since its inception.
