The Master of Athletic Training program comprises 55 credit hours, covering the most current research, knowledge, and techniques while meeting all CAATE 2020 Athletic Training Education Competency requirements.
This program offers a combination of structured classroom instruction and hands-on clinical practice to equip students for entry-level roles in athletic training. Coursework is carefully sequenced to enhance learning, while supervised clinical rotations provide real-world experience to develop professional skills and integration into the field. During the program, students gain direct patient care experience across diverse injury types and populations, including high-risk and non-contact sports, male and female patients, upper and lower extremity injuries, sports and non-sports environments, and general medical conditions.
The Master of Athletic Training Handbook outlines program policies and procedures, aiming to deliver a high-quality educational experience and safe clinical training. Students should refer to this handbook along with the University Bulletin and Graduate School handbook as they progress through the program. Updates to the handbook will be communicated to all students, faculty, staff, and preceptors.
