The Engineering Physics Bachelor of Science program holds accreditation from ABET's Engineering Accreditation Commission. The physics and engineering physics department provides curriculum paths for both Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degrees in physics, along with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics (B.S.E.P.). Each program establishes a fundamental physics foundation and concludes with a comprehensive two-semester senior thesis or research design project.
The engineering physics curriculum aims to equip students with combined physics and engineering expertise for professional opportunities in technical industries, advanced education, and continuous skill development. Aligned with this mission, the program's educational objectives prepare graduates to:
Possess the foundational knowledge to pursue and complete graduate programs in various engineering disciplines or physics,
Develop the capabilities to excel as engineering practitioners in interdisciplinary science-engineering fields, and
Recognize the value of ongoing professional growth and learning throughout their careers.
