The University of Toledo's English master's program attracts exceptional students from around the globe. Our dedicated faculty provides both instruction and personalized guidance to these scholars.

UToledo's graduate program boasts an impressive track record of equipping students for their future careers. We especially serve learners who may not be prepared for larger M.A. or Ph.D. programs but thrive in our intimate academic environment with individualized support.

Our English department features two specialized M.A. tracks:

Literature
Writing studies
The literature specialization allows graduate students to tailor their studies to personal interests. Program participants will:

Explore significant authors and literary traditions across global cultures (including British and American works)

Foreign students who are adequately prepared for graduate study may apply for admission to the College of Graduate Studies. In addition to the requirements for regular admission, however, all applicants from non-English speaking countries must take either the Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
