The Graduate Certificate in Women's and Gender Studies provides an interdisciplinary curriculum exploring how gender functions as a cultural construct influencing personal experiences and collective understanding. Rooted in feminist and gender theories, this program critically examines and reframes concepts, lived realities, and systems of knowledge. Students engage with the complex intersections of gender with race, class, ability, sexuality, and power structures across historical periods and diverse cultures.
Our faculty specialize in diverse aspects of women's and gender studies, including literary analysis, educational theory, cultural criticism, disability research, visual media, digital technologies, and legal frameworks. Cross-disciplinary collaborations bring additional perspectives from History, Sociology, Political Science, English, Economics, Foreign Languages, Communication, Anthropology, and Philosophy.
This Certificate program serves graduate students wishing to formally incorporate Women's and Gender Studies as a focused academic specialization within their broader graduate education.
