The University of Toledo's College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences holds the top spot in Ohio and ranks eighth nationally for educational quality and affordability. The institution is also recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of America's leading pharmacy schools.

Our medicinal chemistry graduate programs, at both master's and doctoral levels, concentrate on the principles and application of pharmaceutical development. What distinguishes our curriculum is its dual emphasis on chemical sciences and cutting-edge biological studies—a rare combination among academic institutions.

Students in our program acquire biological methodologies to pinpoint molecular targets while employing chemical strategies to develop therapeutic compounds. This comprehensive, multidisciplinary training enhances our alumni's career prospects.
Industry leaders particularly value our graduates' readiness for practical laboratory research. Doctoral alumni from UToledo's medicinal chemistry program secure distinguished postdoctoral positions and leadership roles in pharmaceutical corporations or academic settings. Those completing master's degrees often continue to Ph.D. programs at Toledo or other institutions or transition directly into professional positions.
