The MMI program is a component of the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Research Program. It prepares graduate students for professional roles in studying microorganisms affecting human health and the immune system's ability to combat infections and reject transplanted organs and tissues. Students in MMI can work toward a Master of Science (M.S.), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), or—upon medical school admission—a combined M.D./Ph.D. or M.D./M.S. degree.
