The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology provides both teacher-certification and non-certification pathways. The teacher-certification track equips students to obtain Texas State certification for teaching physical education from Early Childhood to Grade 12. The non-certification path prepares graduates for clinical, corporate, or other exercise-related careers, or for advanced studies in fields like physical therapy, occupational therapy, or medicine. This option also helps students qualify for Texas athletic trainer licensing exams. Those pursuing athletic trainer licensure should seek early academic advising, as additional state requirements—including supervised apprenticeships with licensed trainers—must be fulfilled beyond the standard coursework. This program's curriculum holds recognition from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
