The Master of Arts in Economics (M.A.E.) provides a curriculum emphasizing contemporary quantitative techniques and analytical approaches tailored for both business and social science applications. This program balances foundational economic and econometric theories with a strong emphasis on practical implementation and skill-building. It serves students pursuing either a final graduate qualification in economics or those preparing for advanced Ph.D. studies, with flexible full-time or part-time enrollment options.
Students select from three specializations: general economics, financial economics, or business data analysis and forecasting. The general economics track provides adaptable course selection, ideal for doctoral candidates in economics or related fields, as well as those with cross-disciplinary goals. Exceptional students in this track may opt to complete a thesis, though it's not mandatory. The financial economics and business data analysis tracks feature curated coursework to equip students with specialized, career-ready skills for public or private sector roles—neither of these concentrations permits a thesis option. The Economics Graduate Director and Graduate Programs Committee oversee all program aspects.
