Earning a Kinesiology degree from UTSA (ranked #38 for Most Affordable Bachelor's in Kinesiology by Great Value Colleges in 2020) allows you to study diverse areas including community health, school wellness, nutrition, exercise physiology, sports psychology, adaptive physical education, biomechanics, and motor skill development. Preparing HCAP students for professional success is our primary focus, with a specialized internship director facilitating employer connections and student guidance. HCAP students have collectively completed more than 140,000 internship hours, while coursework incorporates hands-on learning through research projects, internships, and fieldwork. The HCAP Student Success Center further enhances career readiness with professional development and leadership resources.
Those working toward a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology can specialize in athletic training, rehabilitation science, exercise science, physical education, or strength and conditioning. Athletic training concentrators gain qualifications for state licensure, though admission to UTSA's Athletic Training Apprenticeship Program is required. National certification demands graduate-level study at an accredited institution. Rehabilitation science students build foundations for healthcare careers like physical or occupational therapy, both requiring additional graduate education for licensure.
