At UTSA, student achievement is our priority. Our hands-on learning approach bridges classroom knowledge with real-world applications. As part of the Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design (KCEID), you'll investigate, participate, and grow from experiences that prepare you for a global workforce. The KCEID Student Success Center offers centralized support for academic, personal, and career objectives, providing tutoring, internship connections, industry networking, and professional skill development.
The Chemical Engineering (CME) program delivers rigorous academic training complemented by practical experience in advanced laboratories. Students select two specialized electives from key chemical engineering disciplines: 1) Petroleum and Energy Systems, meeting growing industry needs, 2) Materials Engineering, supporting microelectronics and energy applications, 3) Bioengineering, combining biological sciences with healthcare technology, and 4) Environmental Engineering, addressing sustainability challenges. An additional technical elective from advanced chemistry or physics completes the requirements. The CME program employs proven teaching methods to foster analytical reasoning, collaborative problem-solving, and effective communication abilities.
