UTSA offers two NASAD-accredited studio art programs for students pursuing an Art degree. Whether your goal is to work as a professional artist, arts educator, performer, or scholar, UTSA's studio art program provides exceptional mentorship to develop your creative and contemporary skills. The BFA program combines rigorous studio work with art history and criticism studies, while the BA program emphasizes foundational training, specialized studio practices, and comprehensive art history education.

The drawing specialization introduces diverse contemporary approaches, moving beyond conventional illustration. Students master traditional drawing and anatomical techniques while exploring drawing's evolution through modern and contemporary art. The program investigates drawing's intersection with sculpture, performance, social practice, and philosophical examinations of drawing's potential.
