UTSA's Global Affairs program equips you with analytical skills to comprehend diverse world regions and the dynamics between individuals, nations, international bodies, and private organizations. Through coursework, you'll examine transnational challenges including crime, terrorism, human trafficking, global health crises, development initiatives, human rights concerns, and environmental matters like climate change. This degree prepares graduates for diverse career paths in government international relations, global business, legal fields, and defense/intelligence sectors.
At UTSA, student achievement is our priority. Our hands-on learning approach bridges classroom theory with practical application. As a Liberal & Fine Arts (COLFA) student, you'll actively investigate, participate, and grow through experiences that prepare you for today's interconnected world. The COLFA Student Success Center provides holistic support for academic, personal, and career objectives, offering tutoring, internship connections, industry networking, and professional skill-building programs.
Through COLFA's Signature Experience initiative, which emphasizes practical application of knowledge, the Department recommends mentorship courses including Internships, Independent Studies, Study Abroad programs, and Research Practicums. Students can apply 3-6 credit hours of internship work toward their degree. These supervised professional experiences blend academic learning with practical application, coordinated by the Political Science and Geography Department's internship team. Faculty members supervise and evaluate internship performance, with additional details available from the department's internship coordinator.
