UTSA offers two NASAD-accredited studio art programs for students pursuing an Art degree. Whether your goal is to work as a professional artist, arts educator, performer, or scholar, UTSA's studio art programs provide exceptional mentorship to develop your creative and contemporary skills. The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) emphasizes rigorous studio practice complemented by art history and critical studies. Meanwhile, the Bachelor of Arts (BA) provides foundational training, specialized studio art concentrations, and extensive art historical knowledge.
At UTSA, student achievement is our priority. Through experiential learning, we bridge classroom instruction with real-world applications. As a College of Liberal & Fine Arts (COLFA) student, you'll gain hands-on experience, engage with diverse perspectives, and prepare for a global career. The COLFA Student Success Center offers holistic support for academic growth, personal development, and career readiness. Access tutoring services, internship placements, industry networking, and professional skill-building through our robust programming.
The new media specialization represents an innovative field that blends conventional art forms with cutting-edge digital technologies. Students investigate this creative intersection through experimental film, audio art, animation, multidisciplinary performances, projection mapping, digital narratives, and immersive environments.
