This program prepares students for a career that mandates an occupational license according to Texas Occupations Code 58.001. All prospective license holders must complete a criminal background check before obtaining licensure. Students enrolled in this program should consult with the College of Education and P-16 Integration regarding criminal background check requirements before beginning student teaching.
The program aims to develop highly qualified educators who can excel in teaching, research, educational leadership, and child development roles, ultimately enhancing educational outcomes for elementary school students.
