All nurse practitioner programs consist of 49 semester credit hours for MSN degree candidates. Students can choose from three concentrations: (a) Adult/Gerontology with an Acute Care specialization (ACNP), (b) Family, and (c) Pediatrics. The School of Nursing also provides a Post-Master's Certificate program requiring 29-31 credit hours across all concentrations (refer to the table below). Clinical practicum requirements range between 610-720 hours, depending on the chosen concentration and mastery of essential practice competencies. Before beginning clinical coursework, Nurse Practitioner students must complete three core and three advanced practice core classes. After admission to a specific concentration, students must consult with their advisor to create a progression plan. Due to the program's competitive nature and limited clinical placements, students who diverge from their study plan for any reason will be removed from the clinical cohort and must reapply to the Nurse Practitioner program.
