The Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling equips students to pursue licensure as professional counselors (LPC), enabling them to offer mental health services in agencies, community organizations, or private practices. With a growing need for qualified mental health practitioners, graduates find themselves highly sought-after, particularly because the program holds CACREP accreditation. This counseling program delivers an M.S. degree that fulfills Texas' Professional Counselor licensure requirements and readies students for careers in diverse environments including psychiatric hospitals, social service agencies, family counseling centers, mental health facilities, and private practices. Prospective students need to complete an application and undergo either an interview or assessment to evaluate whether their background, abilities, knowledge, and potential align with the program's admission criteria.
