The Graduate Certificate in Electric Power and Energy Systems (EPES) aims to equip graduate students and working engineers with specialized knowledge for careers in the power and energy sector. To earn the certificate, participants must complete 12 graduate credits, including at least one core course and up to three electives, maintaining a minimum grade of C in each class and an overall 3.00/4.00 GPA. Typically, applicants should hold a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, though those from other fields may need to complete preparatory courses.
Master's degree candidates must maintain good academic standing, while professional engineers must satisfy non-degree enrollment criteria. The program allows transferring up to three credits from accredited institutions. Additionally, all certificate coursework may count toward the MS in Electrical Engineering or PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering programs.
