The Undergraduate Certificate in Healthcare Management (HCMA) demands completion of 12 Semester Credit Hours (SCH) following prerequisite courses. Available to both business and non-business students, this program addresses the increasing need for skilled healthcare management professionals. Healthcare represents ten of America's twenty fastest-growing occupations, with healthcare administrator positions projected to increase 17% yearly over the next ten years. HCMA participants must take three core courses encompassing healthcare operations, finance, health economics, patient safety, quality assurance, and revenue management. The fourth component features a practical internship where students gain real-world experience at affiliated healthcare facilities across the U.S. and internationally. Participants can select their practicum location from hospital/clinic environments, public health agencies, or health insurance providers. Upon completion, HCMA graduates will possess critical competencies that give them a competitive advantage in the healthcare industry.
