The Bachelor of Science in Geology is a specialized degree that equips graduates for various professional paths in geology, spanning the mining, energy, environmental sectors, and government roles. Many of our students continue their education at prestigious graduate programs, such as UTEP. Transfer students benefit from an accelerated course schedule that facilitates on-time degree completion. This BS program delivers a solid foundation in geological principles, complemented by essential studies in chemistry, physics, and mathematics. The program culminates with intensive three-week field courses, where students tackle real-world challenges and create industry-standard reports. Qualification Requirements

Official High School or College transcripts must be sent directly from the schools attended in the U.S. or abroad. Foreign transcripts in a language other than English must be translated before being submitted to the university. Copies or faxes are considered unofficial and will not satisfy this admission requirement.
All international students must submit entrance exam scores. Take one of the following exams and request your scores to be sent directly to UTEP from the testing center:
SAT: minimum score of 1070 (reading + math sections) with a score of 480 on the reading section
ACT: minimum composite score of 23 with a score of 19 on the English section
TOEFL: minimum score of 500 on UTEP's institutional paper based exam or
a minimum score of 61 on the Internet Based TOEFL (IBT)
UTEP does not accept IELTS scores for admission.
