The sculpture program aims to foster a space where budding artists can cultivate creativity in both practice and thought. While working with classic materials like wood, bronze, and steel, learners are also motivated to experiment with unconventional mediums and techniques. By engaging in three-dimensional art, participants refine their artistic vision, technical proficiency, and societal understanding. UTEP's sculpture facilities boast fully-equipped workspaces for steelwork, carpentry, neon crafting, mixed media projects, and include an Epilog Fusion M2 40 Laser Cutter. The program embraces a modern, diverse artistic philosophy. Beyond conventional metal and wood techniques, students are urged to investigate innovative materials and methods, including performance and installation art possibilities. Extended studio hours are available, and involvement in community art initiatives is highly encouraged.
