The UTEP Art Education bachelor's program equips students to become art instructors in both public and private schools, offering a BA degree in art education along with state certification for all grade levels. This program focuses on delivering visual arts curriculum, theoretical knowledge, and practical classroom experience to aspiring educators. With increasing demand for art teachers in El Paso and neighboring regions, art education presents growing career prospects throughout Texas. Participants in the Art Education program will engage with diverse artistic and pedagogical coursework as part of their training and certification process. The curriculum combines conventional studio practice, art history studies, and specialized art education classes. Additionally, students complete an intensive teaching practicum in public schools through collaborations with the College of Education and area school districts.
