The drawing program provides a modern, flexible approach to media, techniques, style, subject matter, and conceptual development in artwork creation. The Advanced Drawing courses enable students to apply foundational technical skills while cultivating their unique visual language.
Advanced Drawing 1, the first course in the sequence, focuses on human figure studies. Most sessions involve live model work, prioritizing accurate proportions and form alongside innovative use of line, tone, color, and arrangement.
Advanced Drawing 2 and 3 present challenges that rethink conventional drawing definitions while examining fundamental drawing elements. Alongside structured assignments, students build portfolios reflecting their personal concepts. In Advanced Drawing 4 through Special Problems, students pursue more ambitious, dedicated personal projects beyond introductory course expectations.
