Qualification Requirements

The minimum requirement for admission to any master's degree program at UT Dallas is an earned UT Dallas baccalaureate degree or its equivalent with a grade average of B or better in upper-division (junior and senior level) work in the student's major field and related fields. Applicants who have earned a three-year baccalaureate degree are eligible to apply for admission to UT Dallas graduate programs.

Applicants in their final year of undergraduate study may be admitted to a master's degree program at UT Dallas.

For full participation in the Graduate Program in Molecular and Cell Biology, the student should have a good background in calculus, general physics, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and general biology, including genetics and cell biology. Entering students not having this background may be required to take some additional coursework in their first year or in the summer immediately preceding entry. Students intending to do research in computational biology should have some background in mathematics and in programming.
