The Master of Science in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MSIE) program equips students for professional paths in startup creation, entrepreneurial funding, venture capital investments, and innovation-focused positions (including strategic marketing, product promotion, business growth, and project leadership) within established firms. Developed by leading faculty at The University of Texas at Dallas Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship under the Naveen Jindal School of Management, this program offers a hands-on curriculum with distinctive features:
Startup Launch Classes: These allow participants to establish businesses while earning academic credits. Those with scalable ideas may qualify for workspace in the university's Venture Development Center along with tailored mentoring.
Seed Fund Venture Analyst Class: Students perform thorough evaluations and provide investment suggestions for the university's specialized UT Dallas Seed Fund.
Entrepreneurial Immersion Course: Participants collaborate with professionals from major tech firms to assess emerging market possibilities.
Social Impact Entrepreneurship Course: Learners assist local nonprofits in enhancing critical business operations.
Internship Opportunity: Students can gain paid experience while supporting startups or corporations, earning both practical skills and academic credits.
Degree requirements: A bachelor's degree from an institution in the United States, or its equivalent (all majors are considered).
GPA: Students must maintain a 3.0 grade-point average (GPA) in both core courses and in aggregate courses to qualify for the MS degree.
