The Master of Arts in Humanities program caters to both those seeking to deepen their understanding of the humanities while improving their research skills, as well as students planning to advance to doctoral studies in related disciplines. This interdisciplinary program unites experts from diverse fields including history, philosophy, literature, creative writing, art history, film studies, and performing arts, all dedicated to exploring humanistic scholarship through global and cross-disciplinary perspectives.
Under the guidance of renowned faculty at the University of Texas at Dallas, participants choose from three primary specialization areas:
Intellectual History, focusing on historical and philosophical studies.
Literary Studies, emphasizing literature, language, rhetoric, translation, and creative writing.
Arts and Performance, covering visual arts, performing arts, art history, and cinema studies.
Normally students applying for admission to the Graduate Program in Humanities should have previous academic degrees (BA or MA) in arts and humanities fields and a grade point average of 3.3 (especially in upper-division undergraduate or graduate work).
