This engineering management master's program (MEM) features instruction from distinguished faculty at the Top Ten ranked Cockrell School of Engineering and Top 20 ranked McCombs School of Business, alongside seasoned industry practitioners.
By integrating engineering-focused analytical approaches with fundamental business principles, the MEM program responds to the increasing need for technical executives capable of navigating organizational shifts through creative solutions. An Engineering Management degree empowers graduates for senior leadership positions while maintaining cutting-edge, adaptable expertise in today's competitive landscape.
The University of Texas MEM program holds accreditation from the American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM).
Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in engineering or related technical field with at least 18 months of professional experience. This degree is relevant to engineers looking to develop new skills in business, technology, and management to increase their career potential; to those who are seeking an alternative to a traditional MBA; and to students who are interested in developing new technical leadership skills.
The minimum scores considered acceptable for admission by the Graduate School are:
TOEFL: 79 on the Internet-based test (iBT)
IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
