Under Texas Law provisions, students have the option to enroll in a four-year combined degree program that awards both a Master of Public Affairs (MPAff) and a Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.). This integrated curriculum equips graduates for professional opportunities across government agencies, private sector policy roles, and legal practice. By following this accelerated path, students can complete both degrees in four years instead of the typical five-year timeframe. Both degrees are conferred upon fulfillment of all academic requirements from both schools.

Three letters of recommendation are required as part of your application. We prefer one professional reference and one academic reference, while the third can be either professional or academic, depending on where you are in your career.

The Graduate School requires applicants to have earned a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a comparable degree from a foreign academic institution.
A grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or a comparable GPA in upper-division workjunior- and senior-level coursesand in any graduate work already completed is also required.
International students also must submit TOEFL scores. We do not accept the IELTS.
