The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Higher Education Leadership and Policy (PHELP) program aims to foster both personal growth and intellectual advancement for those pursuing careers as educators or administrators in academic and student services. This program prepares professionals for roles within colleges, government bodies, and non-profit organizations by providing historical, political, philosophical, and social frameworks to promote fairness and justice in today's dynamic higher education landscape.
The PHELP M.Ed. cultivates visionary leaders by blending theoretical knowledge with practical application, developing thoughtful scholar-practitioners. Through academic coursework and hands-on experiences like assistantships or internships, students acquire skills to manage intricate higher education systems and effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
Students must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a comparable degree from a foreign academic institution. A grade point average of at least 3.00 in upper-division (junior- and senior-level) coursework and in any graduate work already completed.
The minimum scores considered acceptable for admission by the Graduate School are:
TOEFL: 79 on the Internet-based test (iBT)
IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
