The Full-Time MBA program at McCombs School of Business provides deep engagement with academics, discovery, and forming lasting bonds with peers. Classes take place at Rowling Hall on UT Austin's campus, with a customizable curriculum offering 20 specialization areas, including 14 STEM-certified options.
Finance has consistently been the top employment sector for MBA graduates, accounting for roughly 40% of all job offers in recent years. The program was developed in collaboration with major financial institutions and recruiters. Its design balances curricular flexibility with comprehensive training to properly equip students for finance careers. Beyond the core Valuation requirement, the Finance concentration mandates two additional courses, plus 12 elective credit hours. This structure lets students tailor their studies to align with specific financial career goals.

Obtain copies of your official transcripts, have official test scores sent to UT Austin, or submit a test waiver petition.
Complete your Texas McCombs MBA application by the submission deadline for the round in which you are applying. This includes all relevant application components - essay, transcripts, self-reported test scores, letter of recommendation, resume, etc.
All Full-Time MBA applicants are required to submit a GMAT, GMAT Focus, GRE, or EA score. We will waive the testing requirement if:
An expired (taken 5+ years ago) GMAT, GRE, or EA score is submitted or
General Test Waiver (merit-based) is approved
Within your application, you will provide your professional resume. We strongly suggest that all applicants have at least two years of full-time post-bachelor's work experience (not internships). Full-time work experience is calculated up until the time of enrollment (the start of classes). This encompasses all work completed since your bachelor's degree, including teaching, military service, and government experience (e.g. the Peace Corps).
Cover Letter and Optional Statement
We require one recommendation from a person who has supervised your work and/or assessed your performance. The Admissions Committee limits each application to one letter of recommendation and cannot accept additional recommendations.
The Graduate School requires applicants to have earned a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a comparable degree from a foreign academic institution.
A grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or a comparable GPA in upper-division workjunior- and senior-level coursesand in any graduate work already completed is also required.
TOEFL: 79 on the Internet-based test (iBT)
