The Master of Arts (M.A.) program in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies at The University of Texas at Austin offers a prestigious two-year interdisciplinary curriculum, equipping students with in-depth expertise on the former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia. Enrolled students leverage the combined strengths of the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies (CREEES) and the Department of Slavic and Eurasian Studies. Spanning more than a sixth of the world's landmass, the Russian, East European, and Eurasian territory boasts remarkable diversity, featuring a mosaic of languages, ethnic groups, faiths, cultural practices, political legacies, and economic conditions. Students must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a comparable degree from a foreign academic institution. A grade point average of at least 3.00 in upper-division (junior- and senior-level) coursework and in any graduate work already completed.
The minimum scores considered acceptable for admission by the Graduate School are:

IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
