The Master of Architecture (MArch) is an accredited initial professional qualification. It meets the educational criteria for architectural licensure and caters to students with either no prior architecture education or those holding a four-year pre-architecture bachelor's degree seeking to pursue architecture careers. The MArch program's STEM classification by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board provides access to enhanced research funding possibilities and creates expanded career pathways for international students.
During their studies, participants can earn one or multiple Stackable Graduate Certificates from nine available specializations. MArch candidates also have the option to pursue a transcript-recognized Graduate Certificate in Latin American Architecture as an additional credential.
Students must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a comparable degree from a foreign academic institution. A grade point average of at least 3.00 in upper-division (junior- and senior-level) coursework and in any graduate work already completed.
The minimum scores considered acceptable for admission by the Graduate School are:
TOEFL: 79 on the Internet-based test (iBT)
IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
Application deadline: December 16 for fall
