Since 1992, the LBJ School's Ph.D. program has maintained an enrollment of around 35 doctoral candidates at different completion stages. The program's adaptable, cross-disciplinary structure enables students to leverage The University of Texas' extensive graduate course offerings, fostering specialized analytical skills tailored to each student's research focus.
From their first day, all doctoral candidates benefit from individualized guidance by our distinguished faculty, with many collaborating on publications and presenting at prominent conferences. Combined with exceptional resources at a leading public research institution, this prepares graduates with robust theoretical and practical knowledge for their professional fields. A master's degree or its equivalent (for example, J.D.) is required for admission.
The minimum scores considered acceptable for admission by the Graduate School are:
TOEFL: 79 on the Internet-based test (iBT)
IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
