Students pursuing Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS) gain expertise in understanding individuals and family dynamics through hands-on observation, engagement, academic study, and written analysis. Our program equips learners with strong foundations in statistical methods and physical sciences while enabling practical application of acquired competencies via mandatory fieldwork courses. For decades, the HDFS Department has provided undergraduates with immersive learning experiences in research laboratories, community collaborations, and at the Priscilla Pond Flawn Child and Family Laboratory (UT's on-campus training facility).
If you are an international applicant, you must have completed an accredited secondary school series equivalent to that of a U.S. high school.
Minimum scores acceptable for admission are:
TOEFL: 79 (internet-based test)
IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
