The College of Education provides four specialized majors under the Bachelor of Science in Education program. Students benefit from equity-focused curriculum, learning from experienced faculty and professionals to develop skills for leadership, instruction, and administration across educational and community settings. Those selecting a teacher preparation track within the Bachelor of Science in Education program simultaneously work toward teaching certification for all grade levels. The Early Childhood to Sixth Grade Bilingual Generalist (BIL) program prepares candidates for Texas certification in bilingual or general elementary education, culminating in a B.S. in Education. This specialized bilingual curriculum addresses educational needs of Spanish-speaking students, requiring Spanish language proficiency.
