The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at UTA delivers a challenging academic curriculum that equips students for leadership roles across private, state, and federal organizations. Furthermore, the department readies students for pursuing advanced graduate degrees and careers in unconventional sectors. It provides two graduate degree options. The initial program is campus-based, featuring an in-depth exploration of crime and justice systems alongside core training in research methods and statistical analysis. This curriculum caters to aspiring professionals, current criminal justice practitioners, and those planning advanced academic pursuits. The 36-credit program includes both thesis and non-thesis tracks. Students can focus their elective coursework on specialized study areas with consent from the Graduate Programs Director Advisor.
