The university aims to foster academic and artistic growth for both its students and the broader community through several key initiatives: (1) providing undergraduate and graduate programs designed to help students unlock their musical abilities, (2) delivering specialized degree paths that cultivate exceptional skills for meaningful contributions to music fields, and (3) equipping students for advanced studies or professional music careers by fulfilling rigorous curriculum requirements, performance benchmarks, and academic standards. Performance options range from large orchestras to intimate groups, featuring solo recitals, operas, musical theater productions, studio performances, student-led ensembles, and marching band. All music students, regardless of specialization, learn from our distinguished faculty and can join any ensemble. Brass and percussion students can pursue degrees in performance, education, music business/media, theory, or composition at the undergraduate level, while graduate studies include education, conducting, or performance. Our artist-teacher faculty, many of whom perform with renowned regional organizations, provide private lessons for all brass and percussion instruments.
