The Glass program offers students a chance to investigate glass as an artistic medium through sculptural, conceptual, and functional approaches. Students engage with diverse glassworking methods—from traditional to avant-garde—within rigorous coursework. The artist-craftsman's mindset and their connection to materials, ideas, and utility serve as inspiration for both creating and critiquing student projects. Coursework is designed to build technical mastery, artistic sensibility, and conceptual depth while fostering individual creativity through experimentation with various glass processes.
UTA's glass studios feature cutting-edge facilities with professional-grade equipment, supporting exploration across all skill levels in glassblowing, torchwork, fusing/slumping, casting, and fabrication techniques.
