The painting program at UTA equips students to pursue careers as professional artists. We foster diverse creative perspectives where painting traditions are both honored and reimagined. Our inclusive environment encourages exploration of contemporary painting practices. The UTA painting studio serves as a vibrant hub where students hone their craft through intensive technical training and practical application.
Students enjoy comprehensive facilities including a complete wood shop; a digital fabrication lab with 3D printers, CNC routers, laser cutters, and large-format printing/scanning equipment; bright studios stocked with painting supplies; and a spacious area for critiques and discussions.

In order to be considered for freshman admission students must have completed secondary school studies equivalent to that of United States high school graduation.
Official SAT I or ACT scores are required for entering freshmen with less than 24 semester hours of university level course work (equivalent to one year of full time study).
