The Certificate in Pedagogy and Conducting is a 12-credit postgraduate program tailored for secondary school choral or instrumental directors seeking to enhance their teaching and conducting skills. This certificate can be earned over three summer sessions. The curriculum features nine credits of repeatable Advanced Choral Pedagogy and Conducting or Advanced Instrumental Pedagogy and Conducting courses, allowing participants to learn from various nationally acclaimed guest instructors during an intensive two-week summer program. Additionally, students complete three elective credits in music theory, history, or education. Credits from this certificate may also count toward a Master of Music in Music Education if students decide to pursue that degree later.
