The University of Tennessee's Master of Arts program features two distinct tracks: Literature, Criticism, and Textual Studies alongside Rhetoric, Writing, and Linguistics. Both concentrations deliver outstanding academic preparation with adaptable course options. Participants can focus on specialized areas ranging from medieval literature to critical theory, or opt for a broader interdisciplinary approach. Conference travel grants support student research and professional development, helping them launch careers in their chosen specialties.Through the Graduate Students in English association, subject-focused reading circles, and various events, participants form both scholarly and social connections around common interests. Our MA alumni successfully transition into top-tier PhD programs and pursue rewarding careers in publishing, technical communication, editing, and various private and non-profit organizations.
