Our graduate program provides students with access to distinguished faculty members recognized both nationally and internationally, along with an exceptional research library featuring specialized collections in British and American literature and cultural studies. The Marco Institute for Medieval and Renaissance Studies and the University of Tennessee Center for the Humanities offer additional academic resources. Graduate students can work alongside faculty on cutting-edge research and editorial initiatives, develop and teach undergraduate courses, and engage with our vibrant Graduate Students in English association. Many present their research at prominent conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals, while our alumni hold teaching positions at universities and colleges throughout the country.
