The College of Law and Haslam College of Business provide a joint degree program that awards both a Juris Doctor (JD) and Master of Business Administration (MBA). This combined pathway reduces the required coursework by about 15 credit hours (equivalent to one semester) compared to pursuing each degree separately.

This dual degree initiative acknowledges the growing complexity of knowledge needed for innovative business operations and legal practice, the synergistic relationship between legal and business graduate studies, and the educational advantages of simultaneously studying both disciplines. The program serves students aiming for careers in public service who seek legal expertise alongside business management skills, those pursuing business leadership roles who want legal training, or future attorneys specializing in corporate law who desire business management knowledge.
