The department provides a Five-Year BS-MS program for eligible students. A key feature allows qualified students to enroll in up to 9 credit hours of approved graduate courses as senior undergraduate electives, which can be applied toward both their bachelor's and master's degrees at the University of Tennessee. This program is intended for students pursuing their Master of Science degree at the University of Tennessee, as other institutions might not accept these courses for graduate credit if they were used to fulfill Bachelor of Science requirements.

To apply for admission as an undergraduate student, each international student is required to provide the following:
